少女姬蒂（Leslie-AnneHuff飾演）擁有一種奇異的能力：任何人她只要看一眼，她就能說出對方將於什麽時候死去，分秒不誤。一天，她遇上將在幾小時後便要死去的積遜，於是她跟積遜作了一個奇怪的協定。她認爲積遜是一個能夠在死後到達「來世」得人，如果姬蒂沒有看錯，積遜死後便要給姬蒂報個訊息，讓她知道「來世」到底是怎麽樣的。當晚，積遜如姬蒂所料，離奇地死去。而在死前的最後一刻，積遜看到了一個詭秘恐怖的影像。數天之後，姬蒂果然接到來自「來世」的電話。驚嚇之餘，她按照電話的指示，從洛杉磯到了香港，與達倫（陳奕迅飾演）相會。達倫是個酒保，擁有一個「不完整的靈魂」而深受困擾。達倫與姬蒂於是一起展開了探討「來世」的歷險旅程，更發現了積遜臨死前看到的恐怖影像的真相。而最出乎他們意料的，這歷險旅程最後讓他們發現了關於「生命」、「死亡」、以及最重要的「愛」之真理。幕后花絮：主演西片《赎命》的Eason说，该片是新晋导演周隼第一部片，电影同样获得政府资助超过300万元拍摄。Eason笑言周隼找他演出时，讲明他不接拍便不开戏，令他受宠若惊。Eason说自己在片中跟外籍演员Leslie-AnneHuff合作，自己的戏分在香港拍摄，这部片是全英语对白，很有挑战性，更是我第一次觉得在香港拍戏有好莱坞制作的感觉，因为很有系统，拍8小时就8小时，不会像一般港产片般拍得很快，像走鬼一样。
