《长毛检察官》是迪斯尼于1976年所推出的电影，本片是迪斯尼1959年黑白片《长毛狗》（The Shaggy Dog）的续篇，而跟原来第一集不同，这部续集电影则是拍成彩色的，故事人物则接续原来的作品。《长毛检察官》的剧情故事是当初《长毛狗》中变成狗的男孩Wilby Daniels 长大后的故事，这位小时候遭逢奇遇的男子如今已经当上了律师，不但事业有成，还已经娶妻生子。但是，少年时期的梦靥此时居然又回来了！当他正处于入选为地方法院检察官的紧要时刻，他却不知以前害他变成狗的那只魔戒又被人偷走了，而且还已经被人念出了那个封藏多年禁忌的咒语，这咒语的效应再度把 Wilby Daniels 的生活搞的一团乱！忽人忽狗的他必须严守这个秘密不被曝光，否则他走向检察官一职之路恐怕会十分多舛，另外，他也必须查出这一切到底是怎么一回事，为何事隔多年他再度遭逢这莫名其妙的人变狗宿命呢？
